PSD-A0 S is the acid-washed variant of our premium coconut shell carbon, specifically processed to achieve a neutral pH range of 5–8 and reduce ash content below 3%. While retaining the same high iodine adsorption (>1000 mg/g) and surface area (>1000 m²/g) as the standard PSD-A0, the acid-washing step removes soluble minerals and alkaline residues that could otherwise alter process water chemistry.

This makes PSD-A0 S the preferred choice for point-of-use (POU) drinking water filters, electroplating bath circulation, and any application where pH stability and minimal extractable content are required. The acid-wash protocol also tightens quality control for electronics and surface-finishing industries sensitive to trace ionic contamination.

    Does acid washing reduce adsorption capacity?

    No. The acid wash targets soluble ash and mineral salts, not the carbon pore structure. PSD-A0 S maintains the same iodine number and surface area specifications as PSD-A0.

    For most municipal POE applications, PSD-A0 is sufficient. Choose PSD-A0 S when the application specifies pH-neutral effluent, low extractable conductivity, or involves acid-sensitive processes like electroplating.
